Best Thesis in Jewish History

The Jewish Studies network is pleased to announce a call for nominations for the “Best Thesis in Jewish Studies” produced at Leiden University from November 1, 2023-November 1, 2025.
They awarded the first prizes in 2023. Both B.A. and M.A. theses will be considered. The winning thesis writer will be awarded 500 euro.

To apply, the thesis supervisor should send a short letter nominating the thesis writer and the thesis itself to Ms. Sophia Pekowsky,  s.m.pekowsky@hum.leidenuniv.nl, by November 1, 2025. 

A committee consisting of Prof. Dr. Sarah Cramsey, Dr. Mateo Cohen, Ms. Pekowsky and  Dr. Lital Abazon will review the theses and the winner will be honored at the book launch event for Dr. Rebekka Grossmann’s new book Still Lives: Jewish Photography in Nazi Germany on November 20, 2025 at 16:30 in the Faculty Club.
