Training & Research
The primary goal of the school is to provide an educational program and facilitate specialized training for PhD candidates and Research Master students engaged in research on medieval history, literary history, and the history of art and architecture. This is achieved through the provision of inter-university courses, the facilitation of supplementary education, and the organization or co-organization of specialized seminars, masterclasses, and workshops.
Additionally, the research school aims to foster collaboration among scholars both within the Netherlands and internationally by offering a platform for the exchange of information (including a digital newsletter), encouraging interdisciplinary and inter-university research funding proposals, and regularly organizing (inter)national symposia, including the annual Medieval Studies Day. The school maintains a special, intensive relationship with three Flemish universities: Ghent, Leuven, and Antwerp.
